I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with more than 30 years of experience in the mental health and substance use treatment fields. I graduated from Antioch University, Los Angeles.
In addition to working as a clinician and administrator, I taught at UCLA in the Drug and Alcohol Studies Department for 16 years and received the Distinguished Instructor award in 2015.
In my practice, I specialize in working with adults with mood disorders, addiction, codependency and co-occurring disorders, and adolescents and their families. I have been working with survivors of trauma for many years.
In 1996, I was involved in opening one of the first "dual diagnosis" programs in South Central LA. The program came out of the need for specialized treatment for women who were chemically dependent and had co-occurring mental illnesses. It still provides superior services for the community.
I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services that span from therapy for depression to couples counseling. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clients individual needs to help attain the personal growth and change that they are seeking.
